Focus on Biosecurity
This is a top-of-the-range boot cleaner. Easy-to-operate tap is connected to regular water supply. Water is fed into the brushes. A sanitiser or detergent feed line is incorporated into the upper assembly. This can be used to draw from a bottle placed behind the cleaner. When the tap is turned on venturi action draws additive into the wash water, helping to cleanse or disinfect the boots. The additive can be stopped or started by use of a valve on the tap panel. A grate is provided for moving mud off soles. Dimensions: 60cm long x 30cm wide x 90cm high. All stainless steel.
One Step Sanitiser - 'Simply Click and Spray' Farmhand Strike-400 may be used to clean and disinfect a wide range of surfaces to specifically target common pathogenic bacteria and viruses. Farmhand Strike-400 disinfects and cleans in one simple labour-saving step. It comes complete with a spray device which attaches to a water hose. Here is the ideal shoe and boot disinfection mat for people who need to travel site-to-site and need a mobile disinfection facility. The foam-core mat is encased in a sturdy polyethylene box with lid. The mat can be pre-filled with solution, but will not spill, as the foam takes up all the liquid. It is then simply placed on the ground when required. No risk of spillage in a car boot or similar conveyance. Alternatively, the Mat-In-A-Box can be used at the entrance to sensitive premises and kept covered when not required. An ideal mobile disinfecting solution. Dimensions: 58cm L x 39cm W x 5cm D. Weight 4kg empty. Capacity 2.5 litres.
This mat uses the same proven principles as our other Hoofmats and Disinfection Mats, but is designed as a very low-cost alternative where footwear disinfection is required at the entrances to contamination-sensitive premises. The Mini-Mat features a strong mesh upper welded to an anti-bacterial PVC outer. Outer dimensions are 45cm x 45cm x 25mm depth. Liquid capacity is 3.5 litres. The mats can be used with any type of disinfection liquid, and can be supplied printed on top, to special order. To clean, place on edge, hose off, and leave to drain.
Following experience gained from development and use of our Hoofmat for cattle lameness treatment, our high quality Disinfection Mats are now in high demand around the world for human use at entrances to disease sensitive areas and establishments. These mats feature a permeable upper fabric which enables disinfection of footwear, or anything else crossing it (dogs, carts, etc.). Bottom and sides are of non-permeable material to prevent leakage or leaching of disinfection solution. Simply pour solution on top of mat to fill: 85 x 60 holds 8 litres; 85 x 85 holds 12 litres; 85 x 180 holds 25 litres. All mats are 3cm thick, with a core of bonded urethane foam. To clean, place on edge and hose off. Leave to drain. Disinfection Mats can be used with any disinfectant or sanitizer.
For successful treatment place the mat or mats (herringbone dairies will require two of) in the entrance to the milking platform. Fill the mats with the remedy of your choice (see below), using a bucket or watering-can, then simply top-up as required during milking. By placing the mat at the entrance to the milking area, cows have their feet treated before standing quietly being milked. This is one of the most significant reasons why Hoofmat treatment is more effective than usual footbath type treatments. After milking, simply hang the Hoofmat over a wood rail and hose off. (Note: Remedy residues may affect galvanised rails). The Shoof Hoofmat is 1.8m long x 0.9m wide with 30mm of foam core. It will hold approximately 35 litres of remedy, which should treat about 80 cows passing over. Top up as required during milking. The Shoof Hoofmat should last approximately 100,000 cow passes, but this will be dependent on many factors (see further information on this page). Remedies: Any remedy used in a footbath can be used more effectively and economically in a Hoofmat. This could be formalin, copper-sulphate or a patent remedy. Our standard recommendation, for simplicity and economy, is copper-sulphate powder or granules mixed 2% (by weight) with water. But we especially recommend Intracare 'Hoof-fit' material, as it is not harmful to the environment as copper-sulfate is. (See these pages.) One of the great benefits of changing from a footbath to Hoofmat for lameness treatment and prevention, is the significant reduction in highly-toxic treatment remedies such as formalin and copper-sulphate entering into drainage systems and the environment. Hoofmat is protected internationally by copyright and trademark registrations.
Especially suitable for the larger dairy (over 300 cows), this Hoofmat is made of extra-heavy-duty materials. It also has a larger volume to hold more hoof treatment liquid. As well as the extra liquid capacity, the extra width ensures cows do not avoid the mat in the dairy entrance. The outer fabric is of much heavier construction, and is expected to last up to one million cow-passes, depending entirely on placement and circumstances of use. We particularly recommend the Super Dairy Hoofmat for larger dairy herds, or in dairies with chronic lameness problems requiring continuous use of a Hoofmat. Liquid capacity up to 50 litres. Dimensions are 1.9m long x 1m wide x 3cm thick.
