The Vink Beef Cattle is an upgraded version of the standard and famous Vink Calving Jack. It is specially constructed of heavy duty stainless steel components to fit larger beef cattle. The main pole is 1.8m long and is a larger tube made of heavier material. The rump frame is enlarged to 57cm width to suit very heavy European breeds such as Charolais etc. The frame is also of stronger materials to prevent any bending, and the traction device features a longer handle for greater power with reduced effort in difficult births. Also the pull is sequential on this model, to reduce birthing trauma with large calves.
The world-wide best selling calving aid from Europe. Hangs-on to the cow whether she is standing or goes down in the middle of the job. The permanently attached holding frame fits over the cow’s hip bones, acting as a steady and fixed base from which the Calving Jack tilts and pulls regardless of whether the cow stands, sits or stretches out. This calf puller was developed after extensive institutional research into the forces required for the safest and most humane birthing assistance. All stainless steel. Standard pole is 1.6m long and long pole 1.8m long. The long pole will fit all Vink Calving Jacks. Rump frame 51cm wide (inside measurement).
The Daisy-Lifter cow lifter is designed for medium term support for a down cow. The cow is supported over a large body area, thus reducing pressure points. Fully adjustable to any size animal, and manufactured from long-life materials. The Daisy-Lifter is supplied as a complete kit in a handy carry-bag. The Daisy-Lifter is made in Standard and X-Large models. The Standard model will suit all medium size dairy breeds (up to medium-size holstein). The X-Large model is 20cm longer and wider, and should be used for large-size dairy breeds and larger beef cows. Recommended maximum lift load for the Daisy-Lifter is 1,000kg.
Liftease is new from Shoof's product development department. Liftease has been developed to improve usability and outcomes from existing sling-lift devices. Firstly, Liftease is very strong. We do not believe it can be damaged in use. Liftease is designed to increase cow comfort by preventing or reducing sweating inside fully-enclosed slings. When used for longer periods, these can lead to skin ulcers and hide damage. Liftease is easy to use. It is recommended that the cow is first lifted by a hip-clamp device, but if such a device is not available, the cow can be rolled onto the Liftease, or the Liftease can simply be pulled through under the down animal. The Liftease lift straps each have three lift loops, to give variation of lift height. These loops are designed to fit on a silage fork, and are less likely to slip off than metal hooks. Liftease is designed to lift up to 2,000kg without risk. Liftease can equally be used for horses. **The 'hardware kit' includes 4 x steel 'C' hooks suitable for attachment to forklift teeth or other devices that the Liftease strap loops are not suitable for. (See inset above.)

Adhere is from the makers of Bovi-Bond, the well-known hoof repair system for cattle. Adhere is a fast-setting urethane adhesive designed to bond steel, aluminium and urethane shoes to the equine hoof. Also to fabricate small and large hoof-wall repairs. Adhere sets firm, but retains flexibility so that it moves with the natural movement of the hoof wall. Adhere has an initial set time of 1 minute, but doesn't fully cure for 6 minutes. After setting it can be rasped off to the required shape. Great for all hoof repair work. 50ml kit is a ready-to-use filled applicator.
Following on from their very successful Cowslips™ product, Giltspur of Ireland have introduced a unique new horse ‘shoe’ that can be used for thin soles, brittle feet and is useful in some cases of laminitis or other hoof issues. Horse-Slips™ comprises a 1.5m-long coil of unique PVC-based flexible moulding that is glued around the perimeter of the hoof, using adhesive such as Equilox or similar (see above - not supplied in kit). The strip is cut to the exact required length, and glued in place. Horse-Slips™ comes in two sizes: Small - coil 12cm diameter with 20mm sole-edge cover. Use for foals and ponies. Large - coil 16cm diameter with 25mm sole-edge cover. Use for larger horses, hacks and thoroughbreds. To use Horse-Slips™, cut off the length required and ensure the hoof is well prepared, clean and dry. Fill the moulding cavity with glue and press onto the hoof. Let horse stand quietly for 24 hours. When correctly applied, Horse-Slips™ should remain in place for 4-6 weeks. Once removed, any remaining product or residue should be rasped off. One Horse-Slips™ coil should treat 4 or 5 hooves.
The Sheepmat is manufactured in the same tradition as the famous Hoofmat for cows. It uses 31mm foam in a quality fabric outer. This should suit most existing race systems but the mat must be placed on concrete, wood, or other impervious surface. For successful treatment use in a situation where the animals will not be walking in dirty conditions, or for long distances, immediately after crossing the mat. Management systems may have to be developed to enable lame or at-risk animals to be treated to cross the mat at least once per day. Sheepmat can be used with about 10 litres of 2% copper sulphate solution, or other remedy as may be recommended by your veterinarian. Size of the sheepmat is 1.5m long x 0.46m wide.
